Richard II

A nation in fury. A land bled dry. Rivals sharpen knives.

Richard II: Shakespeare’s great political drama is full of attack. Young Richard sits upon the throne, powerful Dukes lands are robbed to serve the King and Henry Bollingbroke is ready to take action.

After Gloucester dies in mysterious circumstances, rifts emerge at the very top of the British establishment. Accusations are flying around the King and his closest advisors, justice is called for by Bollingbroke and the consequences will change the fate of England.

Laurie Jamieson (Hull Turck & Middle Child) takes on the title role opposite Sean Rigby (ITV’s Endeavour & The National Theatre).

On Shakespeare’s Birthday weekend this fresh production shows his continuing power to thrill and surprise us all.'
