Imagining The Real
With funding from PAVO’s Powys Social Value Forum Development Fund, and following on from a successful pilot weekend in October, Shakespeare Link is pleased to announce the continuation of our exciting new project:
Imagining the Real is an entirely free opportunity for adults and young people to meet together, play together, talk together and engage in an interactive, drama based exploration, rooted in some of the most universal stories ever told.
It will take place in the beautiful environment of Penlanole, home of the Willow Globe - and the theatre, the fields and woods, will be the backdrop to the story world we create and inhabit together.
Do you love stories?
Do you remember the joy of playing outdoors and the worlds created in your imagination?
In these past times have you felt sometimes a little lonely or isolated…?
Do you want to try something new; something fun and empowering in a safe, friendly space?
We are inviting families and individual adults and young people – eight years and older – to join us at Penlanole and as co-creators, Imagine the Real:
Sunday 11am to 4pm
Bring clothing suitable for the outdoors and a packed lunch

Imagining The Real
An elderly man in a once fine coat, braces himself against the wind.
In his right hand a battered suitcase. With his left he holds tightly to the right hand of his granddaughter. He feels her shiver.
What stories does he carry? What stories will she live to hear?
Lowering the suitcase he stoops to tighten the woollen scarf around her neck. Then grasping their lives by the worn leather handle once more, they take the first of many, many steps into our future.
We invite you to join us at Penlanole once again to Imagine the Real.

Imagining the Real - is an interactive, multigenerational drama workshop. We are inviting families, individual adults and young people to join us.

Family Fireworks
**Please note that although the afternoon event will go ahead as planned the morning workshop has been postponed.
2:30-5:30pm Gwyn Daniel in conversation with Gill Gorell Barnes. Family therapist and author Gwyn Daniel will share some themes from her book Family Dramas illustrated with a selection of compelling family scenes, performed by Willow Globe actors. Tickets £12 Adult, £6 under 16.
LET'S PLAY! workshop
During the session they will be debuting their latest film 'Trampoline' which explores the transition from childhood to adulthood through the use of play. Through the film, and alongside games and discussions, we will spend some time rekindling the joy of play. We would love you to join us!
Maskmaking Workshops (Glasbury Village Hall)
Get involved and learn a new skill in these fun, free mask-making workshops in preparation for the "Humans on Trial" project which will be staged at Willow Globe later in the year.
James Oxley Workshop
ames bridges theatre and music with impeccable musicianship.
His tenor voice is admired around the world and he is also a vocal coach at Shakespeare's Globe.
This workshop will offer support to actors and singers alike.
